Lago d'Iseo, also known as Lake Iseo, is the smallest and least known lake in northern Italy. A lot quieter than nearby Lake Como and Lake Garda. The green-blue lake is surrounded by green hills, vineyards and medieval villages.

Discover the lake and head out by boat and set sail to the photogenic island of Monte Isola, Italy's largest freshwater island. This island, located in the middle of the lake, is covered with chestnut forests. Besides the nature, you will find many authentic fishing villages. During your visit, pass by the villages of Siviano and Masse.

A holiday at Lake Iseo has something for everyone. You can stroll through the authentic villages with their cozy streets and boutiques, but also the Italian cuisine can be tasted here. For those who prefer a more active vacation, Lake Iseo is also the right place. You can enjoy sailing or surfing, and there are plenty of hiking and biking trails in the area.

A few kilometers located from Bergamo is a true amusement park spectacle. Minitalia Leolandia is a fun amusement park for families with as many as 40 different roller coasters for young and old. Water rides, animals and miniature models of important buildings in Italy are recreated there. It is also known as the fourth largest amusement park in Italy.

Lake Iseo has a temperate maritime climate. This ensures that the average temperature in the winter months is not as low as expected and it is slightly less hot in the summers. Starting in the month of May, temperatures begin to rise above 20 degrees and in the summer months of June through September, daytime temperatures average around 26 degrees. 

The Monte Isola island located in the middle of Lake Iseo is a 60-meter-high mountain covered with chestnut forests.

If you catch a plane to Lake Iseo, the most recommended airports nearby are those of Verona and Milan-Bergamo.

Should you want to swim in Lake Iseo, there are several sunbathing areas with grass. There are also a number of beaches with fine gravel sand. Water shoes are not necessarily required for that.
