The island of Krk has a maximal length of 30 km and a wide of 15 km. Nevertheless, you will find here a versatile holiday destination. With the mountains in at the south side of the island, and green rolling hills in the north, there is already a difference in the landscape. 

The capital city of the island is the city of Krk. Stroll through the old town center and her narrow streets. A visit to Malinska, Omišalj and Vrbnik should not be missed either. From Vrbnik, you have stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Due to its location, the island provides some idyllic beaches. At the most southern part, you almost feel that you are at the end of the world. The beach of Stara Baska lies here, which is hidden in a bay. 

A visit inland of Krk is worthwhile. The inland is well-known for its vineyards and olive groves., We definitely a stop at a local winery.

At the island of Krk you will not find any amusements parks. But don’t worry, there are plenty enough of outdoor activities such as: kayaking, scuba diving and numerous of other water sports.

For the real adventurist, there is the zip line parkour of Zipline Edison, located at the south side of the island. Try to enjoy across the bay, while hanging above the ground. 
 

Due to its location in the northern part of Croatia, and in the middle of the Adriatic Sea, the island of Krk has a warm Mediterranean climate. Since Krk is actually an island, the climate is strongly affected by its location. During the summer months, the average temperature is around 30 degrees. When the wind is blowing from the sea, you will have a perfect and pleasant day. 

There are several campsites across this peninsula. Near the town of Krk, you will find Krk Premium Camping Resort. A luxury 5-star campsite that has been certified with a blue flag for many years. Because of the location nearby Krk, you can easily stroll along the boulevard into the village of Krk. 

The island of Krk can be reached by toll bridge. The quickest way to travel to this destination, is to fly at Rijeka Airport. From here is a 50 km drive to the middle of the island.

Since January 1, 2023, the Kuna has been replaced by the Euro in Croatia.
